Teachers vital for student development, says Moily
Former Chief Minister Veerappa Moily emphasized the vital role teachers play in shaping students' futures. He spoke at an event celebrating the birth centenary of GM Patil and the 50th anniversary of the Karnataka Progressive Education Society and Dr. GM Patil Law College. Moily reflected on how his own teachers helped him discover his potential in politics and literature. At the event, Moily praised GM Patil’s contributions to legal education, highlighting the college’s success in producing skilled professionals. Various speakers, including Justice K Shridhar Rao and Justice Sanjeevkumar Hanchate, shared their memories of GM Patil. They recognized key figures like advocate KB Navalgimath, who has been teaching for 50 years. Moily also raised concerns about a potential conspiracy regarding the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. He accused the BJP of attempting to reduce constituencies in South Indian states, which often oppose the party. He urged that factors like geography should be considered in this process, rather than just population. Additionally, Moily criticized the government's language policy, advocating for education in regional languages. He also expressed discontent over Congress ministers discussing a sensitive issue publicly, suggesting such matters should be handled within the party to avoid embarrassment.
