Technology, small-cap, and mid-cap funds declined over 10%
Three types of equity mutual funds have seen significant losses in the past three months. Technology, small-cap, and mid-cap funds all dropped by more than 10 percent. Among them, technology funds suffered the largest decline. In the last quarter, technology funds lost around 15.62%. The Invesco India Technology Fund faced the steepest drop, losing nearly 20%. Small-cap funds also experienced a major loss of about 15.17%, with the DSP Nifty Smallcap250 Quality 50 Index Fund losing 19.47%. Mid-cap funds averaged an 11.03% loss, with the HSBC Midcap Fund losing about 18%. Other domestic equity funds fell between 1.89% and 9.95%, while banking sector funds showed the smallest losses of all categories. Experts advise investors to focus on long-term goals when choosing mutual funds. Short-term performance should not lead to hasty decisions. It is important to consider individual risk tolerance and investment timeframes.
