Teen and welder critically injured in Nagpur protests
Nagpur: A 17-year-old student and a 40-year-old welder are in critical condition after being injured during violent protests over Aurangzeb's tomb. The two were not part of the protests but were caught in the chaos late Monday night. Raza Yousuf Khan, the teenager, went out to buy milk after breaking his fast for Ramadan. He was injured near Hansapuri, where cars were set on fire during the unrest. He suffered serious injuries, including neurological damage and wounds on his face and thighs. Imran Ansari, the welder, was heading to the railway station when he was affected by the violence. He was found on Central Avenue, where there was significant vandalism and stone-throwing. He was brought to the hospital in critical condition and is now on ventilator support. His injuries include a fractured leg and stab wounds on his skull and back. Doctors are concerned about Ansari's blood pressure, which has not stabilized yet. Relatives of both men expressed shock at the accidents. Khan's mother, Reena, said she found out her son was in the hospital after he didn't return home. Ansari's brothers were also surprised to learn he was hurt in the mob violence. Khan, who dreams of becoming a model, was doing various jobs to support his ambition. Ansari, a member of the Tablighi Jamaat, is not known for any involvement in violence or protests. Family members are anxiously waiting for updates on their loved ones’ recovery.
