A 19-year-old from Pennsylvania is facing legal trouble after reportedly giving a bomb threat note to a stranger in a Boston store. The incident took place at Urban Outfitters on Newbury Street. The Suffolk County District Attorney announced the charges on Sunday. Lucas Lembck, from Wayne, Pennsylvania, is accused of handing a yellow Starburst candy along with a note that read, “I have a bomb don’t say a (expletive) word.” Authorities received a call about the incident on March 18. The victim informed police that Lembck approached him while he was shopping and offered him the candy as part of what he called a "prank." Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden expressed disbelief that someone would consider such actions a joke, especially given the current climate regarding public safety. He emphasized the seriousness of the threat and the fear it caused. Boston Police quickly identified Lembck through security footage and found him nearby. He initially denied being in the store but later admitted to handing the note after being informed of his rights. Lembck described the act as "dumb," claiming the victim should have recognized it as a joke. During the arrest, officers discovered a matching note and several packs of Starburst in Lembck's jacket. He was released on personal recognizance after a court appearance. Lembck's next court date is scheduled for April 14 for a pre-trial hearing.
