Teen girl jumps to death during parents' divorce proceedings
A 15 or 16-year-old girl reportedly took her own life by jumping from the eighth floor of a court complex in Ludhiana on Thursday. She had accompanied her mother to the court for a divorce case involving her parents. According to police, the girl’s mother was in a lawyer's chamber when the incident occurred. After failing to find her daughter, the mother discovered that the girl had jumped from the building around 11:30 AM. Witnesses say that bystanders rushed her to a civil hospital in a lawyer's car. Sadly, the girl died on the way to the hospital. Police have begun an investigation based on the mother’s statement. They reported that the girl was a Class IX student and had been receiving treatment for depression. Despite the tragedy, the girl’s family, including her mother and grandmother, do not wish to take any action regarding the incident. Sources indicated that she performed well in her studies. The recent incident adds to a history of dramatic events at the court, including a past confrontation and a shooting.
