Teen passenger dies in Rochdale crash after police chase

Deven Andrews, 18, died in a car crash in Rochdale on December 3 after a police chase. He was a passenger in a Toyota Aqua that collided with a Volkswagen Up. The police had pursued the Toyota following a report of a stolen vehicle. Two individuals, a man in his 20s and a 17-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and related offenses. They are currently in custody for questioning. The driver of the Volkswagen was unharmed. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating the incident, which is in its early stages. Greater Manchester Police has referred the case to its Professional Standards Directorate as part of standard procedure.
