Teenage boys face court for ramming garda cars
Two teenage boys are in custody following a high-speed chase in County Wexford. They are expected to appear in court soon. The chase began at about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday when gardaí spotted a stolen car speeding near Drinagh. The driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit that lasted around 40 kilometers. During the chase, the boys allegedly rammed three garda patrol cars. The police initially tried to intercept the vehicle near Wexford town. Despite their efforts, including sirens and flashing lights, the driver continued to speed away. The chase moved northbound on the N11, with the stolen car causing damage to two garda vehicles, putting them out of commission. The dangerous pursuit ended near Ferns when the stolen car collided with another patrol vehicle. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident. The boys, who are both under the legal driving age and not from Co Wexford, have been charged. Gardaí are asking for help from the public. They want anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the chase to contact Wexford Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.
