Teenager pleads guilty to car theft and petrol station robbery in Inverness
A 19-year-old man, William MacLeod, stole a car and robbed a petrol station in Inverness on May 9. He carjacked a Volvo from a woman outside a Tesco supermarket before demanding cash at the Esso garage while brandishing a fake gun. After the robbery, MacLeod led police on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds over 120 mph. His passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was frightened and asked him to stop, but he continued driving recklessly before losing control and being apprehended. MacLeod has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including robbery and dangerous driving. He will be sentenced at a later date.
