Teens seriously injured in UTV crash in Michigan

A serious crash occurred on Saturday night in Berlin Township, Michigan. A 16-year-old boy was driving a side-by-side utility vehicle (UTV) when he ran a stop sign and collided with an SUV. The accident took place around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Berville and Masters roads. The teen was driving west on Masters Road when he failed to stop at the intersection and hit a Chevrolet Equinox traveling south on Berville Road. Both the driver, a 16-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old girl who was a passenger were thrown from the UTV. They were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Information about the older couple in the Equinox, an 80-year-old and an 81-year-old, has not been released, including whether they were injured. Authorities have stated that there is no evidence of alcohol, drugs, or speeding being factors in the crash.
