Telangana allocates ₹1,674 crore for Animal Husbandry
The Telangana government has announced a new Frozen Semen Bull Station in Ranga Reddy, which will be operational soon. This facility will cost ₹21.06 crore and is expected to produce around 1 million frozen semen doses each year. The goal is to enhance the breeding of high-quality dairy cattle in the state. In the 2025-26 budget, ₹1,674 crore has been allocated for the Animal Husbandry department. The government also plans to move the Telangana Veterinary Vaccine Production Centre from Shanti Nagar to Mamidipalli. This new location will receive a significant expansion with an investment of ₹300 crore. The upgraded vaccine centre will feature various facilities, including plants for producing bacterial and viral vaccines, a quality control unit, and an animal testing lab. It will also include a research and development centre and an animal breeding centre. Alongside the new vaccine centre, ₹100 crore will be used to buy advanced machinery for vaccine research. Additionally, to boost fish exports, the government proposed a new wholesale fish market in Koheda, Ranga Reddy district, which will cost ₹47 crore.
