Telangana allocates ₹5,907 crore for road infrastructure
The Telangana government has announced a budget allocation of ₹5,907 crore for the Roads and Buildings department. This funding aims to enhance road and infrastructure development in both rural and urban areas for the year 2025-26. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented these plans in the Assembly. He highlighted the use of the “Hybrid Annuity Model,” which is expected to speed up infrastructure projects and use resources more efficiently. The government plans to develop 17,000 kilometers of rural roads by 2028, investing a total of ₹28,000 crore. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and access in rural regions. Additionally, the government has received approval for building 769.35 kilometers of new roads, costing ₹3,725.22 crore. This project is designed to enhance transportation infrastructure and connectivity across the state. The government is committed to ensuring that every gram panchayat has access to quality road infrastructure.
