Telangana aspirants challenge Group-I exam evaluation process
Over 20 candidates seeking Group I positions in Telangana have turned to the High Court. They are challenging the evaluation process used by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC). The candidates claim that the assessment was unfair because qualified subject experts were not appointed. The petitioners argue that this lack of experts violates rules set in a notification from February 2024. They believe the evaluation process lacks fairness and transparency which are essential for a just assessment. During a hearing on Monday, Justice N Rajeshwar Rao asked TSPSC officials to provide records related to the evaluation. He set the next court hearing for four weeks from now. The candidates also noted that the Commission's way of evaluating answer sheets was improper and broke principles of natural justice. They are asking the court to pause the selection process until a fair evaluation system is in place.
