Telangana cancels nursing school permission, 69 students impacted
The Telangana Health department has revoked the permission for the Nightingale School of Nursing in Hyderabad due to serious violations, including operating without proper facilities and withholding students' certificates. This decision affects 69 students, primarily from marginalized backgrounds. The investigation revealed the school falsely claimed accreditation and charged high fees without providing adequate education or resources. Following a student’s suicide in July 2024, complaints led to the official inquiry and subsequent closure of the institution. The government has ordered the relocation of affected students to accredited schools within 15 days to prevent disruption of their studies. Authorities are also tasked with retrieving the students' original certificates from the now-defunct institution.
