Telangana government slows market borrowings significantly this quarter
The Telangana government has slowed its market borrowings, raising ₹13,800 crore by March 11, significantly less than the ₹30,000 crore planned for the fourth quarter. Despite intentions to participate in weekly auctions, the government skipped the March 18 auction, with only one remaining on March 25. Total borrowings have reached around ₹68,000 crore, exceeding the budget estimate of ₹49,255 crore for the year. Officials cited prudence as the reason for the reduced borrowing activity.
