Telangana High Court dismisses drone case against CM
The Telangana High Court has dismissed a case against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy concerning the unauthorized use of a drone. The incident occurred in March 2020 when Reddy, then an MP, was arrested after flying a drone over a farmhouse owned by state minister K.T. Rama Rao. Reddy used the drone to support his claim that Rama Rao constructed the farmhouse against government rules. He faced multiple charges, including obstructing public officials and flying a drone without authorization. Reddy spent 20 days in jail before being granted bail. In court, Reddy's lawyer argued that the area was not restricted and that the charges were unfounded. The High Court previously asked the Public Prosecutor to provide a response to Reddy's petition, which ultimately led to the case being quashed. Additionally, the court also dismissed a case against K.T. Rama Rao for allegedly making derogatory comments about Revanth Reddy. This case stemmed from a complaint by a Rajya Sabha MP in August 2023. Rama Rao's lawyer claimed the allegations were politically motivated, leading to the court's decision to quash the FIR against him as well.
