Telluride ski owner criticized for community neglect
Telluride Ski & Golf owner Chuck Horning faced strong criticism from Mountain Village Town Manager Paul Wisor during a council meeting. Wisor accused Horning of neglecting the resort and community, highlighting the need for infrastructure upgrades and engaged leadership. The Mountain Village council voted to impose an easement on Horning's land to ensure a popular concert series continues. Wisor noted that Horning's lack of action on agreements has led to urgent discussions about a lift tax for the community. Horning recently fired his son Chad, who had been involved in resort management. Concerns about aging lifts and safety have been raised, with reports suggesting that Horning may have received a low offer to sell the resort.
