Tempo accident in Borivali kills passenger, injures father
A recent accident in Borivali West, Mumbai, resulted in the death of a young carpenter named Sunil Vishwakarma. Sunil, 25, was traveling in an autorickshaw with his father, Rajendra Vishwakarma, after finishing work on March 13. The incident occurred when an unknown tempo driver collided with their autorickshaw near Hotel Pet-Pooja around 9 PM. Sunil was sitting on the side that was hit and suffered severe injuries. He was taken to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital but later was transferred to KEM Hospital due to his worsening condition. Despite efforts to save him, Sunil died from his injuries on Thursday. His father, Rajendra, who was with him during the incident, was too panicked to remember the tempo’s number plate. Following Sunil's death, police registered a case against the tempo driver for causing death by negligence and rash driving. The driver is now facing charges under several sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as the Motor Vehicle Act.
