Tencent launches AI training academy for Hong Kong pupils
Tencent has launched the WeTech Academy in Hong Kong to provide artificial intelligence and programming training for students. The academy aims to support tens of thousands of pupils as the city moves towards a technology-focused economy. The academy will work with local schools, social welfare groups, and businesses to offer diverse learning opportunities. It plans to inspire youth through competitions and projects that apply their tech skills to real-world needs. WeTech Academy will provide resources, including tools for WeChat mini-program development and 200 online tech courses. Tencent did not disclose the investment amount for this initiative.
