A man in Alameda has been charged with murder after allegedly killing his girlfriend, Davonye Cummings, 19. The incident happened on March 2, when Cummings was shot in the neck. Terrence Miles, 32, faces multiple charges, including domestic violence and possessing a firearm as a felon. He was arrested the same day and is currently in Santa Rita Jail, unable to post bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 1. The shooting occurred at an apartment on 74th Avenue, shortly after 8 a.m. Miles’ mother called 911 after receiving a troubling phone call from her son. According to reports, he told her, “Mom help! I shot her” and added, “I didn’t mean to.” Upon arriving at the apartment, police found Cummings' body and a Glock pistol in the bedroom.
