Tesla leads U.S. electric vehicle sales in 2024 as competition grows
Tesla remains the leader in electric vehicle sales for 2024, with the Model Y and Model 3 taking the top two spots in the U.S. market. However, overall EV sales have declined compared to 2023. Hyundai and Ford have also seen success, with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ford Mustang Mach-E showing significant sales increases. The Ford F-150 Lightning's sales rose by nearly 39%, despite production being idled due to lower demand. New entrants like the Rivian R1S and Cadillac Lyriq are gaining traction, while the Tesla Cybertruck, launched late in 2023, has started to slow in sales. The market is becoming more competitive as more brands introduce electric models.
