Texas Tech's Chance McMillian out due to injury
Texas Tech basketball player Chance McMillian is out of action for the third straight game. He has been sidelined with an upper-body injury since March 13, when he left a game against Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament. McMillian is an important player for the team, averaging 14.2 points per game this season. He updated the media, saying he is "getting there" but might not return until the Sweet Sixteen. Before Texas Tech's game against Drake, head coach Grant McCasland confirmed that McMillian would not play. He mentioned the injury "significantly impacts" McMillian's ability to compete. While McMillian remains out, teammate Elijah Hawkins stepped up with an impressive performance against UNC-Wilmington. Hawkins was close to a triple-double in that game, showcasing the team's depth. McMillian, now in his fifth year of college basketball, transferred to Texas Tech after two seasons at Grand Canyon. His teammates hope to extend his career in the tournament. If Texas Tech beats Drake, they will face No. 10 Arkansas in the Sweet Sixteen.
