Textile park established in Bagalkot district, Karnataka
The State government is working on a new textile park in the Bagalkot district. This project will be established through a public-private partnership in Guledagudda. The government has already started the process by transferring 15 acres of land in Muradi village to the local Handloom and Textile Department. Minister Shivanand Patil shared this update in the Legislative Council. He mentioned that the tender process to hire a transaction adviser is currently underway. This adviser will help guide the development of the park. According to the new Textile and Garments Readymade Policy, the government will support the park with land, infrastructure, and subsidies of up to ₹40 crore. The state has seven textile parks in total, with only one operated by the government. Five parks are currently active, and another one is set to begin soon.
