TGCSB blocks 108 illegal betting sites in Telangana

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has blocked 108 illegal betting websites and issued notices to 133 local platforms in Telangana. This action is part of efforts to combat rising online betting scams in the region. To prevent access to these sites, the TGCSB has implemented geo-fencing technology. They have also conducted over 42,000 awareness programs to educate the public about the dangers of online gambling. The bureau has warned that actors and social media influencers promoting online betting face strict legal action. Many of these betting sites are based outside India, which makes it hard for victims to recover lost money. According to the TGCSB, many online betting apps lure users with the promise of easy money and high returns. However, these platforms often operate without legal approval and leave users unable to withdraw their funds.
