Thai actress Arisara “Due” Thongborisut faces embezzlement accusations
Thai actress Arisara "Due" Thongborisut is being investigated for embezzlement. The complaint comes from Wasana Intasang, a billionaire who runs a health and beauty products company. Wasana filed the complaint with police on March 11. Wasana's lawyer met with police on Thursday to provide more evidence. Police are looking into the details, which may take time as they gather evidence and interview witnesses. They have not yet summoned Arisara for questioning. If the investigation finds evidence of embezzlement, it could lead to a charge. In Thailand, embezzlement can result in a prison sentence of up to three years. However, if Arisara returns the borrowed items, there is a possibility of settling the case. Wasana claims that Arisara borrowed luxury items worth 62 million baht, including a necklace valued at 26 million baht. There are rumors that this necklace is now with a government minister. Arisara's lawyer stated that she is currently abroad and has no plans to avoid the legal process. This situation follows Arisara's earlier news coverage regarding her ex-boyfriend, whom she accused of abuse and running a gambling operation.
