The Groucho Club in London closes as police investigate serious crime allegations
The Groucho Club in Soho has closed while police investigate an alleged serious crime at the venue. Westminster City Council suspended the club's license at the request of the Metropolitan Police, which the club accepted. The closure comes during a busy holiday season. A full hearing by the council's licensing sub-committee is scheduled for next month to address the allegations linked to a breach of licensing conditions. The Groucho Club, known for its celebrity members, was founded in 1985 as an alternative to traditional private clubs. It was sold to Artfarm in 2022 for around £40 million.
