The Last of Us season two features more infected characters
The second season of The Last of Us is set to bring more excitement and horror to fans. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have promised viewers "a different evolution" of the infection. They confirmed that there will be many more infected characters, including a new type called Stalkers. According to Mazin, fans can expect a lot more action with the infected. He encouraged viewers to "buckle up" for the upcoming season. Druckmann added that the new infected will be smarter and more coordinated, changing the dynamics of the story. Another big change for season two is the return of spores. These spores were an important aspect of the original games, but the first season opted to use "tendrils" instead. Druckmann explained that they wanted to find a dramatic reason to introduce spores now. He hinted that viewers will see an "escalation" in the ways the infection spreads. The new season will premiere in the US on April 13 and will have a total of seven episodes. While it will not cover the entire narrative of the second game, it will offer significant developments. Returning actors include Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. New cast members like Kaitlyn Dever, who plays Abby, are eager to impress fans. Dever stated her desire to "do this character justice" in the upcoming season.
