The Mail launches true crime podcast network, The Crime Desk

The Mail has launched a new true crime podcast network called The Crime Desk. This new subscription service is aimed at fans of its popular podcast series, The Trial. Subscribers will get access to weekly, ad-free episodes that delve deeper into important criminal trials. The Crime Desk will also feature an extensive archive of over 200 episodes from past trials. These include cases like the Lucy Letby trial and the Holly Willoughby plot. The Trial podcast has gained over 40 million downloads, making it one of the UK's most popular true crime shows. The launch includes an exclusive new episode where hosts Liz Hull and Caroline Cheetham discuss a report revealing missed chances to suspend Letby. Subscribers can also listen to the acclaimed Trial of Lord Lucan series, which uses never-before-seen documents about the aristocrat's notorious case. In addition to these highlights, The Crime Desk plans to introduce more true crime shows, including a new series titled Celebrities On Trial. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers, after which the service will cost £1.99 per month or £19.99 per year.
