Theatre artists must approach craft with objectivity
Former Mysuru Rangayana director H Janardhan spoke at a seminar on Sunday. He urged theatre artists to approach their work with objectivity and responsibility. The event was held to honor senior theatre director CG Krishnamurthy. Janardhan emphasized the importance of understanding history in artistic creation. He said this concept applies to all fields and is part of scientific awareness. He also pointed out that theatre reflects the true nature of people, unlike cinema or television, which can alter perceptions. During the seminar, Gundanna Chikkamagaluru led a discussion on CGK's impact on organizations, communities, and social movements. The event began with an opening speech by theatre director Prof SR Ramesh. A documentary showcasing CG Krishnamurthy's contributions was also presented. Many notable figures attended the seminar, including Rangayana director Satish Tipatur and Mysore District Amateur Theatre Artists' Forum president Rajesh H Talakadu. Senior theatre artists Pasha and Guruswamy Parameshwar were also in attendance.
