Thieves stole Dodge Hellcat from Kent dealership
Thieves stole a high-performance Dodge SRT Hellcat from a car dealership in Kent, Ohio, early on Thursday morning. The incident happened at Mazda of Kent around 1:15 a.m. Police received an alarm notification and found that the thieves had broken through the dealership's bay doors. The stolen vehicle was a purple 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, known for its speed and power. Another car, an Infiniti Q60, was also taken. The Hellcat can reach speeds of up to 199 mph and has over 700 horsepower, making it one of the fastest cars on the market. Shortly after the theft, Stow police spotted the stolen cars at a local intersection. They attempted to pull the cars over but the thieves sped away, accelerating to 100 mph during the chase. The officers decided to end the pursuit for safety reasons. Police likened the heist to scenes from the “Fast and Furious” movies, which often feature car thefts and high-speed chases. Investigators are still searching for the suspects and the stolen cars. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Kent Police Department.
