A group of thirty cyber commandos has completed advanced training in cybersecurity at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Kottayam. They were selected from various State police forces across India and took part in a six-month program. The training focused on crucial skills such as cyber defense strategies, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and penetration testing. These commandos were chosen through a nationwide entrance exam and are prepared to address cyber threats both in India and globally. The trainees received certifications in various cybersecurity fields, including Certified Ethical Hacking and CompTIA Security+. To demonstrate their skills, they had to pass a final exam. They also visited organizations like the Kerala Police Cyber Dome to gain real-world experience. IIIT officials say this program is part of a broader mission to strengthen the nation's cybersecurity. M. Radhakrishnan, the Registrar of IIIT Kottayam, noted that this training initiative aligns with the goals of the Government of India. The Cyber Commando Training Program will continue to develop future cybersecurity experts.
