Thousands in Karachi begin Aetekaf spiritual retreat
Thousands of people in Karachi have started their spiritual retreat known as Aetekaf. This retreat takes place during the last ten days of Ramazan, a holy month for Muslims. Participants will focus on worship and spiritual growth, isolating themselves from everyday life. Many worshipers are gathering at the Faizan-e-Madina mosque to observe Aetekaf, which began after the Asr prayers on Friday. The retreat aims to bring participants closer to Allah and help them achieve spiritual purification. This period will end with the sighting of the Shawwal moon, which signals the end of Ramazan. Several mosques in the city are ready to welcome participants, including New Memon Mosque, Faran Mosque, and Gulzar-e-Habib Mosque, among others. Special facilities have been arranged to accommodate those observing Aetekaf. Additionally, some women have the option to participate from home. Most mosques completed the registration process for Aetekaf participants early in Ramazan. They are also providing meals for the pre-dawn meal (Sehar) and the meal to break the fast (Iftar) during this period. During Aetekaf, participants will engage in various worship activities, including night prayers and special supplications. They will focus on seeking blessings, especially during the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr, and will pray for the prosperity and stability of their nation.
