Three abandoned puppies become licensed police dogs in Durham
Three abandoned puppies have been trained and registered as police dogs by Durham Constabulary. The dogs, aged 14 to 18 months, completed a 10-week training course and passed their final assessments. Jasper, an 18-month-old Belgian Malinois, was found abandoned in a greenhouse at seven weeks old. He will work with PC Dan Cuthbertson in general purpose policing. Axel, another Belgian Malinois, was discovered in a cardboard box at 12 weeks old and is now the youngest licensed police dog, working with PC Paul Cooper. Dutch, an Alsatian, will assist PC Laura Linskey in searching for suspects and missing persons.
