Three arrested after man's body found in Idukki manhole
Three people have been arrested in Idukki, Kerala, after the body of a missing man was found in a manhole. The man, identified as Biju Joseph, had been missing since Thursday morning. His family reported him missing to the police on Friday. Joseph's body was discovered in a manhole at a catering firm in Kalayanthani, near Thodupuzha. He had gone out for a morning walk and did not return home. Investigators found his clothes and shoes nearby. Police suspect that Joseph was murdered due to a financial dispute with his former business partner. They say the two had been engaged in joint business ventures, but Joseph allegedly failed to pay his partner's share. During the investigation, police learned that the business partner may have hired two men from Kochi to abduct Joseph. A struggle reportedly broke out during the abduction, resulting in Joseph's death. The accused then disposed of the body in the manhole and covered it with food waste. The catering firm where the body was found is owned by the business partner, who is now in custody. One of the other men involved had previously faced legal action to keep him away from Ernakulam. The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released soon.
