Three arrested for murder in Chennai land dispute
Police in Tambaram arrested three men for the murder of a retired Chennai Corporation employee. The victim, Kumar, was 70 years old. He was killed over a land dispute involving his relative's property in Uthandi. Kumar had been living with his daughter in Selaiyur for the past year. He was reported missing on March 16 after leaving for personal errands. His daughter filed a complaint when he did not return. Investigation revealed that Kumar was murdered by A. Ravi and two accomplices, Vijay and Senthilkumar. Kumar had previously reported to the police that Ravi was encroaching on his relative Ramesh's land. On the day he disappeared, Ravi had invited Kumar to a restaurant under the pretense of discussing the land sale. Once in the car with Ravi and the two brokers, Kumar was threatened for the land documents. When he refused, they killed him and buried his body near a forest in Gingee. Police are also looking into Sukumar, who allegedly helped create fake documents for the land.
