Three arrested for stabbing student in Chandigarh

Chandigarh police have arrested three men for the murder of a Class XII student. The incident took place on Saturday night in Ram Darbar. The victim, named Vivek, was stabbed to death after an argument near a public restroom. Witnesses reported that Vivek, accompanied by a friend, was attacked by the three accused as he entered the restroom. The attackers used sharp weapons and fled the scene immediately after the assault. Bystanders called the police, who arrived quickly and took Vivek to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The police, led by senior officers, gathered evidence from CCTV footage and spoke to witnesses. They identified the three suspects as Gagandeep, Suraj, and Karan, who all live in Ram Darbar. The arrests happened after the suspects were presented in court. Authorities believe the attack was motivated by ongoing tensions between the victim and the suspects. However, Vivek's father stated that his son rarely engaged in fights. After a postmortem, the body was returned to the family. This incident is part of a troubling trend in the area. Recently, there were several other violent crimes involving young people, highlighting concerns about youth involvement in crime.
