Three arrested for trafficking brown sugar in Chainpur

Police in Daltonganj have arrested three young men for drug trafficking. The men, all in their twenties, were caught with 710.56 grams of brown sugar during a routine vehicle check. The arrests happened on Monday at Magar Daha. The suspects were identified as Manish Kumar, Md Toofan Rayen, and Chirag Kumar Singh. They were traveling from Garhwa to Daltonganj when officials stopped their car. According to Mani Bhushan Prasad, the local police officer, the brown sugar is worth around 9 lakh rupees. The police also seized nearly 8.89 lakh rupees in cash during the operation. Prasad noted that about 300 grams of brown sugar was found in the car, while the rest was taken from Chirag. The three men have been charged under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and are currently in jail.
