Three arrested in Kattakada for MDMA possession

Three men were arrested in Thiruvananthapuram for possessing 200 grams of MDMA. The drugs have an estimated value of Rs 6 lakh. The arrests happened during a police raid on Sunday at one of the accused's homes in Kattakada. The men smuggled the MDMA from Bengaluru. They hid the drug inside bread packets while traveling by bus. Police acted on a tip-off received by the rural SP and conducted the raid. The arrested individuals are Vishnu, 35, from Kattakada, Anoop, 33, from Thirumala, and another Vishnu, 32, from Thycaud. They face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. These men have previous criminal records involving drugs and other serious charges, such as murder and attempted murder. Police stated they monitored these individuals as part of an anti-drug initiative. When confronted, the accused denied having any drugs. However, police discovered the sealed bread packet containing the MDMA during the search.
