Three arrested in shooting of ex-Cong MLA Thakur
Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident involving former Congress MLA Bumber Thakur in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced the arrests during a legislative session on Tuesday. Thakur and his personal security officer, Sanjeev Kumar, were injured in the attack. The arrested individuals are Ritesh Sharma, 24, from Ghumarwin, Rohit Kumar Rana, 29, from Naina Devi, and Manjeet Singh Nadda, 33, from Sadar. A vehicle used in the shooting has been seized. An FIR was registered on March 14, leading to the formation of a Special Investigation Team to handle the case. Sukhu revealed that two shooters have been identified as Aman and Sagar, both from Rohtak district in Haryana. The police are working to locate the remaining suspects, with separate teams deployed to neighboring areas. Forensic teams recovered multiple cartridges from the vehicle and the crime scene. Investigators are also examining digital evidence, including CCTV footage. Opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur urged that the injured MLA should avoid making political remarks while the investigation continues.
