Nuh police have arrested three cattle smugglers after a firefight early Tuesday morning. The suspects were part of a gang known for smuggling cattle across Haryana and Rajasthan. The police launched an operation after receiving tips about the Adwani gang's activities. The gang was reportedly using an unpaved route along the Gurnawat railway line to transport cattle to Rajasthan. When police set up barricades to stop their vehicle, the smugglers chose to ram through the checkpoints instead of stopping. In the ensuing chase, the suspects opened fire on the police. Three of the smugglers were injured in the exchange and were taken into custody. The other three accomplices escaped during the chaos. Authorities have initiated a manhunt to locate the fugitives. Police seized a Tata 407 truck that the gang allegedly used for smuggling. They also found five cows, firearms, and ammunition in the vehicle. Authorities believe the gang is connected to various cattle smuggling cases in the region. Nuh Superintendent of Police Vijay Pratap Singh confirmed that search operations are ongoing in nearby villages. Multiple police teams have been deployed, and security has been increased at border checkpoints to prevent the remaining suspects from fleeing into Rajasthan. Police are also questioning the arrested individuals for more information.
