Three charged with murder in Kottur assault case

Three men have been charged with murder after their victim died from injuries sustained during an assault. The incident occurred on March 13, and the victim, G. Suresh, 30, passed away in the hospital on Sunday. The accused are S. Nagaraj, 28, N. Murugesan, 50, and his 18-year-old son, M. Manickam. They all live in Moongiladi, a village near Aliyar. The police reported that Murugesan and Suresh were drinking together when an argument broke out over money meant for liquor. Suresh is said to have torn Murugesan's money and later hit him. Nagaraj arrived after Murugesan called him, and the three men then beat Suresh. After the attack, Nagaraj was left at home. He was taken to a hospital the following day but didn't survive. Suresh's mother filed a complaint after his injury, leading to Murugesan's arrest on March 14. Nagaraj was arrested three days later, but Manickam is still on the run. After Suresh's death, the charges were upgraded to murder against all three men, who are currently in custody.
