Three civilians killed in Russian shelling, eastern Ukraine

At least three civilians died due to Russian shelling in Pokrovsk, a city in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region. The attack happened on Saturday afternoon, hitting a residential area. A regional governor, Vadym Filashkin, reported the incident on Telegram. One more person was injured in the attack. The public prosecutor's office is looking into the type of weapons used during the shelling. Russian troops are advancing on Pokrovsk, which is only a few kilometers away. The city has been a key transport hub and has seen intense fighting for months. Its population has dwindled from 60,000 to just a few thousand people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited military units defending the area on the same day.
