Law enforcement agents arrested three people suspected of being major illegal drug traffickers in Cavite province. The operation took place on March 18. Authorities seized drugs worth over P2.3 million, including ecstasy tablets, shabu (crystal meth), and marijuana. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that two suspects, a 26-year-old man named "Gi" and his 21-year-old partner "Kirstein," were arrested during a sting operation in Imus City. They were caught with 1,000 ecstasy tablets, which were valued at around P1.7 million. The police also found several disposable vape cartridges and bags of kush worth P180,000, as well as a digital weighing scale. These suspects are classified as high-value individuals (HVI) in the drug trade. This term refers to people involved in producing, distributing, or financing illegal drugs. Just a few weeks earlier, PDEA agents seized over 5,500 ecstasy tablets valued at P9.4 million from traffickers in Bacoor City. In a separate incident, police arrested another suspect known as "Robert" after he sold shabu to an undercover officer in Gen. Mariano Alvarez. They found 30 sachets of shabu weighing about 65 grams, worth approximately P442,200. Authorities are now investigating where these drugs came from. The three suspects are currently in custody and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
