Three Irish players named to All Australian AFLW team

Three Irish players have been selected for the All Australian team in the AFLW, marking a significant achievement as the season nears its end. Tipperary's Aishling Moloney and Aisling McCarthy, along with Mayo's Aileen Gilroy, make up the half-forward line. Gilroy is the first player to win both an All Australian and an All Star award. This selection increases the total number of Irish players honored to five, following previous selections of Orla O’Dwyer and Niamh Kelly. A record 34 Irish players participated in the 2024 AFLW season. The grand final will take place next Sunday between Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne, a rematch of last year's final.
