Three men sentenced for 2017 murder in Chennai

In Chennai, a city court has sentenced three men to life in prison for the murder of a 26-year-old man in October 2017. The three were part of a group involved in a drunken fight that ended with the victim being attacked. The victim, S Vinod Kumar, was drinking with his friends when a quarrel broke out. This conflict involved a juvenile boy who was also drinking. The situation escalated, and Vinod was attacked with a knife and sickle by four suspects and the juvenile. Police arrested five individuals in connection with the case, which included J Santhoshkumar, 25, T Subramania Raju, 24, M David, 19, and M Madhan, 26, along with a juvenile. During the trial, Madhan died due to an illness. The court found Santhoshkumar, Raju, and David guilty of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The juvenile was sent to a correctional facility for boys as per the law.
