Three-year-old accidentally shoots baby sister in Kansas

A three-year-old girl accidentally shot her one-year-old sister in the head after discovering a loaded gun at home. The incident took place in February in Wichita, Kansas. The girl's father, Michael Tejeda, is now facing serious charges. Tejeda, 25, has been arrested for murder. He reportedly left the gun unsecured in the house. In a 911 call, he told operators that his older daughter had shot her sister. He was heard asking the three-year-old why she did it. When police arrived, they found the baby being carried out by a firefighter. She was taken to a medical center but was pronounced dead shortly after. Tejeda explained to officers that he was in another room when he heard a loud bang. His daughter then ran to him crying. Tejeda has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated child endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon. The investigation into the incident continues.
