Three-year-old Bennett Nelson passed away in Chicago

Bennett “Benny” David Nelson passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 3. He died peacefully at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago after experiencing an unexplained seizure and other complications. Born on October 22, 2021, in Highland Park, Illinois, Benny was raised in Grayslake and Antioch by his parents, Tiffany Mae and Bradley Edward Nelson. He was known for his vibrant personality and adventurous spirit. Benny loved riding tractors, playing in the mud, and dancing to music. Benny had a special bond with his older sister, Adalyn, 5. They enjoyed daily adventures together, filled with laughter and love. Benny’s curiosity shone through in preschool, where he excelled at learning and loved doing puzzles and riding his bike. He is remembered for his warm hugs and infectious smile. Benny is survived by his parents, sister, and several grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather. A memorial visitation is set for March 28, 2025, in Grayslake, Illinois. A celebration of Benny's life will take place the following day.
