Thuram out for France's match against Croatia
Marcus Thuram is out of the France squad for the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal against Croatia because of an ankle injury. The team's medical staff confirmed this on Monday. Thuram was the only player from the 24 called up by coach Didier Deschamps who did not attend an open training session in Clairefontaine, near Paris. He has played 29 times for France and scored two goals. The 27-year-old forward plays for Inter Milan. He scored twice in a recent Champions League match against Feyenoord but did not complete the game. He also played for Inter Milan on Sunday, helping them win 2-0 against Atalanta in Serie A. France will face Croatia in Split on Thursday. The second leg will be at the Stade de France on Sunday. It is unclear if Thuram will be replaced in the squad.
