Tigress Zeenat relocated to larger enclosure in Similipal
Tigress Zeenat has been moved to a larger 20-acre enclosure in Similipal Tiger Reserve after spending two-and-a-half months in a smaller space. This change follows recommendations from the National Tiger Conservation Authority to better assess her hunting skills. Zeenat was recaptured in West Bengal after dispersing from Similipal and returned on January 1. Wildlife officials are carefully monitoring her behavior before deciding when she can be released into the wild. The new enclosure is located in the south division of Similipal, which has more tigers than the north division where she was previously held. Officials are taking precautions to minimize direct contact with her during this period.
