Tiruchi plans adventure sports center to enhance leisure

The district administration in Tiruchi plans to build an adventure sports centre to enhance leisure options for residents. Currently, Tiruchi lacks major entertainment facilities compared to cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai, which have theme parks and adventure activities. The successful opening of the Tiruchi Birds Park has encouraged local officials to pursue this new project. The proposed adventure sports centre aims to offer a variety of activities suited for all ages, focusing on eco-camping and adventure tourism. The initiative seeks to create jobs and promote sustainable practices while boosting the local economy. Collector M. Pradeep Kumar stated that the adventure centre would attract both local visitors and tourists. The goal is to create a space where people can spend a day engaging in various activities. Discussions about the project are ongoing, and officials are in the process of selecting the appropriate land for it. A nodal agency to execute the project will also be finalized soon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar emphasized that this facility will not only serve Tiruchi residents but also promote tourism and support local businesses in hospitality, food services, and tour operations.
