Tiruchi vendors demand accurate roadside vendor survey

Members of the Federation of All Roadside Vendors Associations in Tiruchi are calling for a new survey of street vendors in the city. They submitted a petition to the district administration on Monday, claiming that the current list of vendors is inaccurate. A. Ansardeen, the district secretary of the federation, noted that the list included individuals who are not street vendors. This includes wholesale traders from Gandhi Market, tailors, autorickshaw drivers, and members of self-help groups. Ansardeen emphasized that this situation harms real roadside vendors, many of whom come from poor backgrounds. He urged the Tiruchi Corporation to conduct an accurate and thorough survey to ensure all genuine vendors are recognized.
